Skyranch, Tagaytay

The Ultimate Funpark in Town

by: Mary Joyce Negre

Sky Ranch (or Sky Fun) is an amusement park in Tagaytay – Nasugbu Highway, Tagaytay, Cavite which opened in March 2013. It is located inside Sky Ranch, a property owned by SM Investments Corporation's subsidiary SM Land commercial property division , where several shops and restaurants are also located. It includes kiosks, rides, and the Sky Eye Ferris wheel, which is 63 metres (207 ft) tall and has 32 gondolas.

Sky Ranch is located at the heart of Tagaytay. If you want to speed things up and feel your heart flutter, you can ride the Super Viking, which is an attraction that looks like a big ship that swings to great heights. Other exciting attractions include Nessi Coaster, Express Train, Red Baron, Wonder Flight, Carousel, Flying Bus, Mini Viking, Snail Attack, Sky Cruiser, Jump Around, Log Coaster, Drop Tower, and Racing Car.

Where does the Skyranch locate?

It is located at Tagaytay, Philippines. Tagaytay is a popular holiday town south of Manila on the Philippine island Luzon. Known for its mild climate, it sits on a ridge above Taal Volcano Island, an active volcano surrounded by Taal Lake. Overlooking the area, People’s Park in the Sky occupies the grounds of a never-finished presidential mansion. Picnic Grove is a recreation area with trails and a zip line.

My Personal Experience

Last August 5,2018 we had our family outing in Tagaytay. We left our house at 7:00 in the morning to be able to arrive early in our destination.

We arrived at our destination around 8 :30 and went to buy are ticket immediately. As a first timer at Skyranch I can say that the view was breathtaking. Being able to see the view of the Taal Volcano from afar was really the best. My cousins and I had decided to try the zipline where you can see the amazing view of the Taal Volcano. At first it was very scary because the ride was very long especially it was my first time trying this one also it consists of a pulley suspended on a cable, usually made of stainless steel, mounted on a slope. I could feel my heart beating while going up the stairs and also seeing how high the tower was. The zipline costs us 400 php. Being in Tagyatay with a nice weather made it all magical for me as I scan my whole view in the are while riding the zipline. Even though this costs us 400 it was really worth it. There was also a picture as a souvenir for all riders that costs us 100php.

The next ride we had in mind is the Drop Tower where you would be drop from the highest point of the ride 2 times. Base on my experience I can say that this ride made my head dizzy. But it was okay in the end because my cousins and I where the only one riding it.

After many hours of us strolling around the arcades we had decided to try the bump car with my two little cousins. The ride was really bumpy and all. After that ride we had decided to eat in one of the restaurants in Skyranch. We had tried the unlimited calamares and chicken. The meal was really very delicious. After an hour we went for Hoarse back riding that costs us 300 pesos for a ride of 30 minutes. As a first time I was really nervous because I had this thought in my mind the might fall down. The next ride we ride was the super viking.

City dwellers looking for a quick weekend recreation will surely enjoy Skyranch since it has a lot to offer aside from it fun park rides and exciting activities. One thing that you shouldn’t be missed is “The Sky Eye“, dubbed as the tallest Ferris wheel in the country. From the top of Sky Eye is an incredible view of Taal Volcano along with the provinces and cities surrounding Tagaytay. Not only kids but also kids at heart will surely enjoy Tagaytay Skyranch.

For those eyeing for more thrilling experiences, I suggest to try the Viking, Jump Around, Log Coaster and Flying bus. If you want to see the amazing view of Taal Lake, Taal Volcano and provinces surrounding Tagaytay, you can try the Sky eye and the Zipline.
